A masterclass offering writers of colour the tools they need to build a strong platform and become a successful author.
In our search for more authors of colour to publish in the personal development, holistic health and spirituality spaces, we realized that we were meeting writers with great book ideas and wonderful stories to tell, but who lacked strong platforms. In these times, all non-fiction publishers are looking for authors with platforms – as we’re all aware that a good platform is vital to launching a successful book. A platform is formed of many things, including public speaking and traditional media, but a strong online presence is essential. This ideally means a good email database, large numbers of engaged followers on social media and/or a keen podcast audience.
As part of our Diverse Wisdom initiative, we’ve set up a platform coaching day. This day will feature our own Hay House Online Marketing Specialist and social media expert, Tom Cole, along with some wonderful Hay House authors who all have different skills and fields of expertise. They’re all sharing their time free of charge in order help more diverse voices be heard.
Bestselling author and Instagram star Vex King, author of Good Vibes, Good Life, will share advice on how to put your ideas out into the world with authenticity and power; international angel expert Kyle Gray will guide you through ways to build your profile and gather the confidence to share your wisdom; and spirit guide medium Yamile Yemoonyah will show you what can be achieved with one great idea.
So wherever you are in your book publishing journey – whether you’re a social media whizz or don’t have a Facebook account yet, our fantastic line up of speakers will share their very best tips for getting the platform you need to share your message with the world. We’re asking for a small entrance fee as a contribution to the room rental – so please take advantage of this fabulous opportunity. We don’t know when it might be possible to do it again!
